Dell has officially unveiled the new Dell Streak Pro in China, at a press conference in Beijing. It will be the first smartphone powered by the new Baidu Yi platform. It will be available on China Unicom and packs in some really impressive hardware.

Dell は Beijing でのプレス･カンファレンスで、中国市場向けの新 Dell Streak Pro を、オフィシャルに披露した。そのスマートフォンは、最新の Baidu Yi プラットフォームからパワーを供給される、最初のデバイスになるだろう。そして、China Unicom から提供されるが、ハードウェアとしては、いくつかの注目すべき点が含まれている。

It comes with a dual core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm processor and a 4.3 inch SuperAMOLED display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels. It comes with Baidu’s new Yi smartphone platform, which is customized for Chinese customers. It comes integrated with a lot of popular Baidu services, and is also compatible with Android apps. It will presumably come with an 8 MP camera.

Qualcomm の 1.5 gHz – Dual Core プロセッサと、4.3 inch – 960 x 540 Pixel の SuperAMOLED ディスプレイ実装される。そして、Baidu の新 Yi Smartphone Platform は、中国の顧客向けにカスタマイズされたものとなる。さらに、人気を集めている数々の Baidu サービスと統合され、Android アプリケーションとの互換性も持つ。カメラに関しては、おそらく 8 MP が提供されるだろう。

Dell has focusing on China a lot lately. It recently launched the Streak 10 tablet there, and now a new smartphone exclusively for China.

最近の Dell は、中国市場への注目度を高めている。そして、この市場向けに Streak 10 タブレットの供給を開始し、今回は、新しいスマートフォンを提供することになった。

“Dell will choose to release more and more products for China, as its first place to launch in the world, because China is becoming an important market,” said Michael Yang, Dell’s President of Greater China.

Dell had first launched a variant of the Dell Streak Pro in Japan earlier in September, but it was powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread. It may launch the globally soon, but hasn’t revealed anything on that front yet.

すでに Dell は、最初の Dell Streak Pro（別種）を、この 9月に日本で立ち上げているが、その OS は Android 2.3 Gingerbread である。また、グローバル市場向けの出荷も近々に予定されているようだが、現段階では何も発表されていない。

普通に考えると、Android のフォークっぽい感じがしますが、実際はどうなんでしょうね？すでに HTC も、Facebook フォンの変種である新浪フォンを、中国市場に投入しているように、この巨大市場がモバイルの世界におよぼす影響力は、ますます大きくなっていくのでしょうね。ーーー
